Ubisoft has announced that Far Cry 5 will be free to play this weekend. From August 5th and until August 8th, PC gamers will be able to play this latest part in the Far Cry series for free. Moreover, PC gamers can pre-load the free trial starting today.
Far Cry 5 takes place in Hope County, Montana, in which players’ arrival incites the cult to violently seize control of the region. Thus, players must rise up and spark the fires of resistance to liberate a besieged community.
The game features customizable weapons and a big vehicle roster. Moreover, players will be able to freely explore Hope County’s rivers, lands, and skies. Additionally, Far Cry 5 takes advantage of Rapid Packed Math which will allow a graphics card to execute two math instructions for the price of one.
You can preload the free trial via Epic Games Store or Ubisoft Connect.
Lastly, and speaking of Far Cry 5, we also suggest taking a look at the Goldeneye 64 and Project IGI mods/maps. These maps should be compatible with the game’s free trial.
Have fun!

While he is a die-hard PC gamer, his gaming roots can be found on consoles. John loved – and still does – the 16-bit consoles, and considers SNES to be one of the best consoles. Still, the PC platform won him over consoles. That was mainly due to 3DFX and its iconic dedicated 3D accelerator graphics card, Voodoo 2.
