SNK has announced that its latest fighting game, Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves, will be released in early 2025. To celebrate this announcement, the team shared two new gameplay trailers that you can find below.
The first trailer is the announcement trailer and it features a few seconds of gameplay footage. It’s a flashy trailer that feels kind of meh. The second trailer, though, looks more interesting and packs 2 minutes of gameplay from this new Fatal Fury title. It also confirms the first playable characters.
The first playable characters are Rock Howard, Terry Bogard, Hotaru Futaba, Tizoc and Preecha.
To be honest, I was kind of worried about this new SNK fighting game. You see, I was a bit disappointed with how The King of Fighters XV looked. For Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves, SNK decided to have a more cel-shaded approach. And, in my opinion, it has paid off. Contrary to KOF XV, this does not look like a cheap mobile game. The 3D environments also look great, and I really like the contrast and colors that SNK used. Oh, and look at those animations. They look soooooooooooo smooth. That was one of the biggest features of Garou: Mark of the Wolves. So yeah, I guess a lot of Garou/Fatal Fury fans will rejoice.
SNK hasn’t revealed the platforms for which this new Fatal Fury game will come out. However, we can assume that it will hit the PC alongside its console versions. After all, that’s what happened with The King of Fighters XV. For a 2025 game, we can also assume that it will support cross-play between PC and consoles.
Enjoy the trailers and stay tuned for more!
