The official FF7PC website has just been updated and includes some new information about the re-release of Square Enix’s classic JRPG. According to the website, the game will be available exclusively on the SQUARE ENIX Store and it is coming soon. The company has also released the minimum requirements and as we can see, the game will support all of Microsoft’s OSes.
It’s also pretty obvious that this FF7PC game is a simple re-release with a host of new online features, and nothing more. And even though the requirements seem higher than those of the old game, we doubt that Square Enix has reworked the game’s visuals. At least the game will support the hardware accelerated rendering path that was previously available via 3DFX’s GLIDE API. Will it be able though to compete with the emulated Playstation version of Final Fantasy 7 via ePSXE? Now that’s the real question.
Here are the minimum requirements for FF7PC. As we’ve said and before, the game will support Achievements, character boosters and Cloud Saves:
-Microsoft Windows XP/Vista/7 (32/64-bit)
-2GHz Processor or faster
-1GB RAM
-DirectX 9-compatible graphic card

Still, the PC platform won him over consoles. That was mainly due to 3DFX and its iconic dedicated 3D accelerator graphics card, Voodoo 2.
