Square Enix announced today the Steam release of the new downloadable PC version of Final Fantasy VIII at a price of $11.99. The Steam version is said to be optimized for modern high-definition PCs and fully integrated with Steam, and includes a range of new features such as a Magic Booster that enables players to power up their spells, Steam cloud support, and 45 integrated achievements to encourage players to explore various facets of the game.
This version of FFVIII also includes the full game “Chocobo World” that was released as a separate application for previous versions. It is possible to play “Chocobo World” directly from the launcher after booting up FFVIII and by fulfilling certain specific conditions in the main game you will also be able to synchronise data between the two games.
