At this year’s PC Gamer Weekender, Square Enix revealed some new information about the PC version of Final Fantasy XV. According to the team, there are higher quality assets that were created specifically for the PC version.
Moreover, the game will allow PC gamers minor modding possibilities at launch. For example, players will be able to reskin all characters from the get-go. Square Enix also plans to release more extensive modding tools after the game’s release, though it did not reveal when these more powerful modding tools will come out.
Square Enix re-stated that the PC version of Final Fantasy was built from the ground up and that it will not be a console port. The team described it as a remake of the Final Fantasy XV game that came out on consoles.
From what we know so far, Final Fantasy XV will support cross-play co-op between Xbox One and Windows 10. Furthermore, Square Enix will fix the stuttering and LOD/Hairworks issues that plagued its benchmark tool.
Last but not least, there is a chance that Final Fantasy XV will not be using the Denuvo anti-tamper tech. We’ll have more details once its EULA is up on Steam but the latest PC game from Square Enix, Secret of Mana, did not use the controversial anti-tamper tech.
Final Fantasy XV Windows Edition releases on March 6th!

While he is a die-hard PC gamer, his gaming roots can be found on consoles. John loved – and still does – the 16-bit consoles, and considers SNES to be one of the best consoles. Still, the PC platform won him over consoles. That was mainly due to 3DFX and its iconic dedicated 3D accelerator graphics card, Voodoo 2.
