Color us unsurprised by this, but Epic Games has unveiled that their first Unreal Engine 4 title will hit stores next year. That was revealed in the latest interview of Epic Games’ president, Mark Rein, with Joystiq. According to Rein, Epic will release an Unreal Engine 4 powered game next year, though he does not know exactly when.
Perhaps this might be the unannounced PC exclusive title that Epic has in store for us. After all, we don’t really expect to see next-generation consoles coming next year as nothing has been announced at this year’s E3.
Rein added:
“It’s certainly important for us to have our flagship game. That’s the game for which we develop the engine. Gears of War was the game for which Unreal Engine 3 was developed, and so shipping that has a huge significance for licensees and for us. I think, for Unreal Engine 4, there’ll certainly be a couple of games.”
Could this mean that Unreal Engine 4’s showcase title will actually be a PC title. Awesome. How about Unreal Tournament 4 in Unreal Engine 4 then? Now that would be really, really sweet!

Still, the PC platform won him over consoles. That was mainly due to 3DFX and its iconic dedicated 3D accelerator graphics card, Voodoo 2.
