Ubisoft has revealed that all future DLCs for For Honor will be completely free to everyone. As For Honor’s director Damien Kieken claimed, the team does not want to split the community, which is why it will be offering all DLCs for free.
As Kieken said:
“So everything that’s matchmade [including] new modes and new maps, will be given for free to the players. We’ll also have other free content. We are a big team supporting the game after launch.”
Now this does not mean that the game won’t feature microtransactions. As Kieken clarified:
“On the monetisation side. The idea is that we allow players to buy more Steel. It’s just a shortcut. Everything is unlockable just by playing the game. And all shortcuts are tied to progression, so you can’t unlock an end-game item right away.”
Ubisoft has also announced that the For Honor Closed Beta will be available in January 2017. Players will be able to step onto the war-torn lands of Ashfeld, Valkenheim and Myre with brand new multiplayer experiences that showcase the age old war between Vikings, Samurai and Knights.
In order to celebrate these announcements, Ubisoft released some new trailers for For Honor that can be viewed below.
