Epic Games has confirmed that Fortnite has passed 200 million players worldwide on all platforms. This is a phenomenal growth and shows how successful Epic’s title actually is. For instance, the game had 40 million players in January 2018 and in almost a year Epic has managed to increase that number by 160 million players. Simply mind-blowing.
What’s also really cool is that Fortnite is one of the few games that supports cross-play between almost all platforms. Gamers can play with their friends whether they are on PC, Nintendo Switch, PS4 or Xbox One.
Unfortunately Epic has not revealed any individual platform sales so we don’t know how many PC gamers are actually playing. But then again, that’s irrelevant thanks to the cross-play functionalities (and that’s precisely why more games should support this feature).

While he is a die-hard PC gamer, his gaming roots can be found on consoles. John loved – and still does – the 16-bit consoles, and considers SNES to be one of the best consoles. Still, the PC platform won him over consoles. That was mainly due to 3DFX and its iconic dedicated 3D accelerator graphics card, Voodoo 2.
