The Coalition has announced that the PC technical test for Gears 5 will begin on July 17th. The team revealed that there will be two Technical Test periods, and also revealed the game’s official PC requirements that you can find below.
According to the developers, the first Technical Test period will run from July 19th at 10am PDT until July 22nd at 10am PDT. The second Technical Test period will run from July 26th at 10am PDT until July 29th at 10am PDT.
The PC Technical Test will also give The Coalition a critical opportunity to get the game onto PCs with unique combinations of hardware and software at scale, something that it will allow the team to fix/address tech issues prior the game’s launch.
“If any unforeseen issues arise, it gives us the opportunity ahead of launch to identify and address any issues ahead of release.”
PC gamers will need at least an Intel Core i3 Skylake or an AMD FX-6000 CPU with 6GB of RAM and an AMD Radeon R9 280 or an AMD Radeon RX560 or an NVIDIA GeForce GTX760 or an NVIDIA GeForce GTX1050.

While he is a die-hard PC gamer, his gaming roots can be found on consoles. John loved – and still does – the 16-bit consoles, and considers SNES to be one of the best consoles. Still, the PC platform won him over consoles. That was mainly due to 3DFX and its iconic dedicated 3D accelerator graphics card, Voodoo 2.
