Microsoft and The Coalition have revealed the final PC system requirements for Gears 5. According to the specs, Gears 5 will require 80GB of free hard-disk space. However, the game will also come with a HD Texture Pack, meaning that the actual file size could be even higher.
Interestingly enough, and contrary to most other triple-A games, Gears 5 will require 8GB of RAM. Most games these days recommend 16GB of RAM, so it’s refreshing witnessing a game with more realistic RAM requirements.
Similarly to its Technical Test, The Coalition lists an AMD FX-6000 series and an Intel i3 Skylake as the minimum CPUs. PC gamers will also need at least an AMD Radeon R9 280 or an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 760 for Windows 10. Gears 5 will also support Windows 7, though it appears that the GPU requirements are slightly higher.
The Coalition recommends an AMD Ryzen 3 or Intel i5 Skylake with an AMD Radeon RX 570 or an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 970 for Windows 10. For Windows 7, the developers recommend an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1660ti.
Gears 5 releases on September 9th, and you can find its final PC requirements below.
