World of Gothic’s member ‘Degenerated’ has been working on a DX11 renderer for Piranha Bytes’s classic RPG, Gothic 2. This new renderer enables modern-day features such as dynamic shadows, ambient occlusion, normal mapping, better water reflections and much more.
Those interested can download the latest version of this fan-made DX11 renderer from here.
Reddit’s member ‘Aunvilgod‘ has shared a number of screenshots from Gothic 2 modded that can be viewed below.
YouTube’s member ‘Fluent’s World’ has also shared a video showing off the newest build of this mod.
Enjoy!

While he is a die-hard PC gamer, his gaming roots can be found on consoles. John loved – and still does – the 16-bit consoles, and considers SNES to be one of the best consoles. Still, the PC platform won him over consoles. That was mainly due to 3DFX and its iconic dedicated 3D accelerator graphics card, Voodoo 2. John has also written a higher degree thesis on the “The Evolution of PC graphics cards.”
