GSC GameWorld will hold a session at GDC 2023 on March 23rd, in which it will present an exclusive look at STALKER 2. In this session, GCS GameWorld and NVIDIA will talk about NVIDIA Omniverse Audio2Face.
To be honest, I don’t really expect much from this. So yeah, be sure to temper your expectations. Not only that, but this session may not be viewable to the public, so we might not see that short in-engine video from STALKER 2. Still, this session confirms that GSC GameWorld is closing closely with NVIDIA.
As the description of this GDC 2023 session reads:
“Join this session to hear how developers from GSC are adopting generative AI technology from NVIDIA in their content creation workflows. We will present an exclusive look at Stalker 2, present today’s workflow challenges in the facial animation and localization process. Then we will introduce Omniverse Audio2Face AI SDK, the challenges it helps solve, and how we are implementing the AI technology into our pipelines.”
S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 is using Unreal Engine 5 and from what we know so far, GSC GameWorld plans to release the game in 2023.
Stay tuned for more!

While he is a die-hard PC gamer, his gaming roots can be found on consoles. John loved – and still does – the 16-bit consoles, and considers SNES to be one of the best consoles. Still, the PC platform won him over consoles. That was mainly due to 3DFX and its iconic dedicated 3D accelerator graphics card, Voodoo 2.
