A while ago, Rockstar removed Grand Theft Auto 4 from Steam. Some people speculated that the team had removed the game so it can sell it, exclusively, via its new Rockstar Launcher. However, Rockstar announced today that GTA 4 will return on Steam via Grand Theft Auto 4: Complete Edition.
Grand Theft Auto IV: Complete Edition will replace both Grand Theft Auto IV and Grand Theft Auto: Episodes from Liberty City. Moreover, it will be compatible with current game save files. However, this version will not feature the Games for Windows Live service.
Doe to the removal of GFWL, the game will not feature any multiplayer functionalities. It will also not feature any Leaderboards. Not only that, but RamJam FM, Self-Actualization FM, and Vice City FM will be temporarily unavailable.
Grand Theft Auto 4: Complete Edition will be a free upgrade to all owners of GTA 4 and Grand Theft Auto: Episodes from Liberty City. Those that have bought a retail version will be able to use their codes to unlock this Complete Edition.
Grand Theft Auto 4: Complete Edition will be available on Steam and Rockstar Launcher on March 19th!
