Juergen Vierheilig released the latest version of his Cinematic Mod for Half-Life 2. As always, some will like it while others might hate it. Still, this is an amazing overhaul for Half-Life 2 and if you haven’t tried it yet, we’d urge you to. Cinematic 11 Mod is a graphical / music total overhaul, as it looks and sounds very different compared to vanilla HL2 and you can view some comparison shots and videos from this latest version bellow.
To play this mod, you must own Half Life 2 + Episode 1 + Episode 2 and have them fully installed and unlocked! Be warned that you cannot play without Episode 2’s content. In addition, players should activate the “High Quality” graphic settings in the options dialog. Especially the model setting must be at “High” or you’ll get facial animation errors with HD models. Moreover, you should also enable HDR, when using the dynamic shadow enhanced maps.
