Back in February, we informed you about a mod that added Razer Hydra and Oculus Rift support to Half Life 2 and Black Mesa. And today, we are happy to report that this mod – created by Nathan Andrews – is finally available for download as an alpha version. Sounds amazing, right? Well it does but how many of you have that equipment? Still, it’s great to see such an incredible mod getting released, even in its early stage of development.
Those interested can download the mod from here.
Players will need to have the Source SDK Base 2006 and 2007 installed via Steam before installing the app, as well as Microsoft’s C++ Runtime before the mod will work.
The installation and configuration procedure is a bit pain in the ass, but those interested in such a mod will be able to figure it out. In short, you’ll have to experiment a lot until you find your own sweet settings.
Thankfully, Andrews has posted a nice guideline on his blog so make sure to read it first.
Enjoy the following footage from Half-Life 2 with this mod in full effect!

While he is a die-hard PC gamer, his gaming roots can be found on consoles. John loved – and still does – the 16-bit consoles, and considers SNES to be one of the best consoles. Still, the PC platform won him over consoles. That was mainly due to 3DFX and its iconic dedicated 3D accelerator graphics card, Voodoo 2.
