At the SXSW Halo tournament, Microsoft revealed some new information about the PC version of Halo: The Master Chief Collection. According to the publisher, the PC test for Halo Reach, the first game that will come out on the PC, is almost ready to go and the sign ups for Halo Insider are currently open.
Microsoft claimed that the test is almost ready to be launched and, at this point, it only needs a large amount of signups. This test will take place on Steam and there will be a new Reddit AMA this Tuesday.
Furthermore, Microsoft revealed that Halo: The Master Chief Collection will not be a Play Anywhere game, though it is looking into options for current Xbox One owners of this collection (perhaps a discount?). Moreover, there won’t be cross platform support between the Xbox One and the PC version at launch.
343 Industries claimed that it wants to do such a thing, however it needs first to finish the games for the PC and it wants its community to tell them that they indeed want a cross platform feature.
Those interested can sign up for the Halo MCC PC Insider program by visiting its official website.
