Now this is bloody amazing. Star Citizen’s crowd-funding campaign has ended and managed to surpass its dream goal, as it has raised well over six million dollars. Yeap, that’s SIX MILLION DOLLARS. You know, this sounds like Konami’s memorable E3 line “one million trooooooooops”. But whatever, we are excited so we don’t mind that. And in case you did not get it, it’s six million dollaaaaaaaaars.
According to Chris Roberts, with this amount of money Cloud Imperium will be able to build the game they were imagining with all the bells and whistles they wanted included:
“At six million you’ll launch the game with 100 systems, a full orchestral score and a free copy of the first Squadron 42 mission disk, Behind Enemy Lines.”
So this basically means that we’ll get a full sized Wing Commander-like game mode with Freelancer openness and a persistent open world. Sounds awesome? Yes. Yes it does.
The bad news is that we’ll have to wait now two whole years until we get our hands on this promising space game.
Cloud Imperium has also released a new video for Star Citizen that can be viewed below.
Enjoy!
