Blackbird Interactive has just released the official PC system requirements for its new sci-fi RTS, Homeworld 3. Moreover, the game will have Ray Tracing effects. Plus, it’ll support NVIDIA’s DLSS 3 and AMD’s FSR 2.
The devs will use Ray Tracing in order to improve the game’s shadows. Thanks to RT, PC gamers will get soft shadows with contact hardening.
Although Homeworld 3 will support DLSS 3 Frame Generation, there is no word on whether it will support Ray Reconstruction. Additionally, it appears that the game will not support Intel XeSS. Blackbird claimed that the game will be compatible with the Intel Arc GPUs.
Blackbird has listed the Intel i5 8600K and the AMD Ryzen 5 3600X, as well as the NVIDIA GTX1060, the AMD R9 480 and the Intel Arc A380 as the minimum required CPUs and GPUs.
For gaming at 1440p/High, Blackbird suggests using an Intel i7 12700K or an AMD Ryzen 7 5800X with an NVIDIA RTX 2070S, an AMD RX 6600XT or an Intel Arc A770. As for 4K/Epic, you’ll need an Intel i7 13700K or an AMD Ryzen 9 7900X with an NVIDIA RTX 3080 or an AMD RX 6900XT.
For 1080p/Ray Tracing Low, the developers suggest an Intel i7 10600K or an AMD Ryzen 5 5500 with an NVIDIA RTX3060 or an AMD RX 6650XT. And as for 4K/Ray Tracing Epic, you’ll need an Intel i7 14900K or an AMD Ryzen 9 7950X3D with an NVIDIA RTX 4080 or an AMD RX 7900XTX.
Gearbox plans to release Homeworld 3 in February 2024!

Still, the PC platform won him over consoles. That was mainly due to 3DFX and its iconic dedicated 3D accelerator graphics card, Voodoo 2.
