Blackbird Interactive has released the debut trailer for Hardware, “the world’s first planetary-scale social strategy game”. We are pretty sure you don’t know who Blackbird is, so let us tell you that the team is consisted of the creators of Homeworld and the Executive Producer of Homeworld 2. In other words, this is the spiritual successor to Homeworld, so get excited everyone. Hardware is set in a future sci-fi world dominated by Long March Industries, a “ruthless interstellar megacorporation” that controls a lucrative mining planet, and players will be commanding a fleet of massive vehicles. The game is currently planned for a PC release, while a console version will depend on the success of the project. Enjoy Hardware’s teaser trailer below!
John is the founder and Editor in Chief at DSOGaming. He is a PC gaming fan and highly supports the modding and indie communities. Before creating DSOGaming, John worked on numerous gaming websites. While he is a die-hard PC gamer, his gaming roots can be found on consoles. John loved – and still does – the 16-bit consoles, and considers SNES to be one of the best consoles. Still, the PC platform won him over consoles. That was mainly due to 3DFX and its iconic dedicated 3D accelerator graphics card, Voodoo 2. John has also written a higher degree thesis on the “The Evolution of PC graphics cards.”
