PC gamers, meet The Forest; an open world survival horror game currently in development for PC, in which players will have to build, explore, and survive. The Forest promises to feature a living, breathing forest with changing weather patterns, plants that grow and die, with a vast network of caves and underground lakes that are available for exploration.
Players will be able to chop down trees to build a camp, or start a fire to keep warm, scavenge food to keep yourself from starving, as well as find and plant seeds to grow food.
Players can use stealth to evade enemies, or engage them directly with crude weapons built from sticks and stones. Moreover, players will face a clan of genetic mutant enemies that have beliefs, families and morals and that appear almost human.
An alpha version of The Forest is planned for a 2013 release, so stay tuned for more.
Enjoy!

While he is a die-hard PC gamer, his gaming roots can be found on consoles. John loved – and still does – the 16-bit consoles, and considers SNES to be one of the best consoles. Still, the PC platform won him over consoles. That was mainly due to 3DFX and its iconic dedicated 3D accelerator graphics card, Voodoo 2.
