Intel has created a new CPU to directly compete with AMD’s Threadripper in Core count. The i9-7920XE is Intel’s flagship CPU and their most expensive, lucky for us benchmarks have surfaced and we can take a look at how it is compared to AMD.
Thanks to Coolenjoy and VideoCardz which has provided us with the benchmark results, lets jump into it.
The CPU was tested on a ASUS APEX motherboard which is designed for overclockers. It was quickly discovered that the CPU can boost up to 4.2GHz across all cores while under testing from Cinebench.
What was interesting about these tests is that the i9-7980X should only be boosting up to 4.4GHz using two cores while using Turdo Boost Max 3.0 and 4.2Ghz using Turbo Max 2.0.

Hello! My name Jak Connor I’m based in Australia and I picked up PCgaming as child when I was around ten years old. I mostly played RTS games back then, putting many hours into Age of Empires 1/2 and Age of Mythology. My love for PC gaming grew and stayed with me as I now have a passion for gaming and the amazing technology jumps developers show us all the time. I pledge that I will be bringing you fine people of DSOgaming the most unique and interesting news I can find!
