It appears that SiSoft’s Sanda database has leaked Intel’s upcoming new i7 CPU, the Intel Core i7 9700K. According to the database, this new i7 will be the first one lacking Hyper Threading and will be an eight-core CPU.
The CPU will be clocked at 3.6Ghz and will come with 12MB of L3 cache. Although we don’t know its boost speed, earlier rumours suggested that it could be around 4.9 to 5.0Ghz.
TheĀ Intel Core i7-9700K will most likely be the successor to the Intel i7 8700K; a six-core CPU that supported twelve threads thanks to its Hyper Threading technology.
There are also rumours about a new i9 CPU, the Intel Core i9 9900K, that will be an eight-core CPU and will support Hyper Threading, though we don’t know how much this – or even the new i7 CPU, will cost.

Still, the PC platform won him over consoles. That was mainly due to 3DFX and its iconic dedicated 3D accelerator graphics card, Voodoo 2.
