Jurassic Park fans, here is something special for you today. LifelessTapir has released a free game in which he basically recreated the entire Isla Nublar island in CRYENGINE. As such, players can download and play this game in order to re-explore the island from the first Jurassic Park movie.
Unfortunately, though, this project does not feature any dinosaurs. Therefore, think of it as a walking simulator (or an exploration game). Still, the attention to details is extraordinary and the game looks great thanks to CRYENGINE.
Players can also drive the iconic Jurassic Park jeeps, which is a really clever touch.
As LifelessTapir said:
“I’ve learnt many things about game development in these 3 years and I am still learning. Some of the models in Jurassic Dream are really old and need to be remodelled since my skills are improved.
Due to not having enough spare time (and skills) there aren’t any dinosaurs in this version of Jurassic Dream.
I really hope you’ll like it even though it’s a dino park without dinosaurs. “
Still, and since we’ll be not getting any first-person Jurassic Park game anytime soon, I’m certain that this fan game will interest all JP fans out there. Now imagine if someone could populate this project with dinosaurs. Or to be more precise, with beautifully animated dinosaurs. Now let’s go one step further. Imagine if these dinosaurs featured a really smart AI, turning this project into a survival game. I know this will not happen, but there is a lot of potential for such a thing, especially now that the map is already finished.
But anyway, you can download Jurassic Dream right now from here.
Have fun!
