KARMA: The Dark World Is a New Unreal Engine 5-Powered First-Person Cinematic Psychological Thriller

Remember The Dark World: KARMA? Well, of course you don’t. This game was announced back in June 2021. And today, Wired Productions revealed a title change and a new trailer for it.

For those unaware, KARMA: The Dark World is a first-person cinematic psychological thriller that will be using Unreal Engine 5. The game is set in a dystopian world in 1984 where the Leviathan Corporation is omnipresent.

In this game, you play as Daniel, a Roam Agent for Leviathan’s Thought Bureau. As Daniel, you’ll have to use a combination of investigative tools and your own keen intellect to solve puzzles and unravel the truth.

Players will dive into the memories of suspects to retrace their steps and piece together their investigations. At the same time, players will have to keep their sanity and wits as they uncover a dark story of love, loss and deception.

Now what’s interesting here is that POLLARD STUDIO has shared some preliminary PC requirements. These PC specs confirm the existence of Ray Tracing in this game.

So, according to these early PC specs, PC gamers will at least need an Intel Core i3-3220 or AMD A8-7600 with 8GB of RAM and an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 or AMD Radeon RX 480. The devs recommend using an Intel Core i5-7600K or AMD Ryzen 5 1600X with 16GB of RAM and an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1660 or AMD Radeon RX 580. For Ray Tracing, POLLARD STUDIO recommends an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060 or an AMD Radeon RX 6700 XT.

Now I have to be honest, these PC specs seem really low for a game that will take advantage of UE5. So, I’d suggest tempering your expectations. This won’t likely be a UE5 showcase. Still, for a “small” game, it at least looks good.

There is currently no ETA on when KARMA: The Dark World will come out. Naturally, though, we’ll be sure to keep you posted.
