Bloober Team has announced that a PC demo for its Unreal Engine 5-powered horror game, Layers of Fear, will release this Monday. In addition, the team has revealed the game’s official PC system requirements.
Layers of Fear will be using UE5’s Temporal Super Resolution, and Bloober Team suggests using it. Moreover, the game will take advantage of Ray Tracing effects, as well as UE5’s Lumen tech. Furthermore, it will support HDR, volumetric lighting and Niagara.
For gaming at 1080p/60fps with High Settings, TSR and no RT, Bloober suggests using an Intel Core i7 8700K or AMD Ryzen 5 3600 with 12GB of RAM and an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1070.
For gaming at 1080p/60fps with High Ray Tracing and TSR Balanced, Bloober recommends an NVIDIA RTX 2070 or an AMD RX 6800XT. And as for 4K/60fps/High Ray Tracing/TSR Balanced, Bloober recommends an NVIDIA RTX 3080Ti.
Layers of Fear will officially release in June 2023. Naturally, and since this will be one of the first games using Unreal Engine 5, we’ll be sure to test the PC demo once it comes out!

Still, the PC platform won him over consoles. That was mainly due to 3DFX and its iconic dedicated 3D accelerator graphics card, Voodoo 2.
