Almost Human announced today that their dungeon crawling role playing game Legend of Grimrock 2 will be released for PC on 15th of October. The first-person role playing game takes a breath of fresh air as the new installment presents – in addition to dungeons, mines and tombs – more open-ended outdoor environments as well as enhanced and more varied gameplay mechanics, levels and content.
In addition, pre-orders are now available directly on Almost Human’s website for a special 15% discount off the regular price of $23.99, which grants access to both a Steam key as well as a standalone installer when the game is released.
Antti Tiihonen, co-founder of Almost Human, said:
“We’re thrilled that we finally get to show all of the Legend of Grimrock fans that the long wait for the sequel has been worth it. The new game not only looks gorgeous but it also brings improvements on all the key aspects of the first game.”
Legend of Grimrock 2 contains more than 20 hours of pure blooded dungeon crawling gameplay with grid-based movement and thousands of squares filled with hidden switches, pressure plates, secret doors, riddles, deadly traps and more. Powers of perception and logic are more important for the player than sheer force is, since Legend of Grimrock 2 puts a heavy emphasis on exploration, survival and challenging puzzles.
Legend of Grimrock 2 is the sequel to the chart-topping, critically acclaimed dungeon exploration role-playing game Legend of Grimrock that revived the dungeon crawling genre in 2012. The game is a dungeon crawling game inspired by oldschool classics of the genre while still bringing its own twists to the game. The game features survival, combat, magic, puzzles and role-playing elements.
The player controls a group of four prisoners who are shipwrecked on the secluded Isle of Nex which is filled with ancient crumbled ruins, mysterious shrines and a vast underground network of dungeons and mines. If the prisoners wish to make it out alive, they have to overcome the challenges devised by the ominous mastermind of the island.
