New World Interactive, a newly formed independent game developer based in Denver, announced today that it has licensed CryENGINE 3 from Crytek to develop Lethal Enterprise, a free to play FPS game about the drug war.
Jeremy Blum, Newworld’s President said:
“Besides the game being about the drug war we don’t want to reveal too much. We’re very excited about licensing CryENGINE and truly hope to raise the bar when it comes to visual expectations of free to play games.
A lot of people say that mod development is nothing like AAA downloadable game development. My guess is this person never made a total conversion mod before”
In case you were unaware, Jeremy was the original producer of Red Orchestra and Insurgency.
Carl Jones, Director of Global Business Development CryENGINE added:
“We’re thrilled to welcome New World Interactive as a new licensee and are happy that Jeremy and his team chose CryENGINE 3 to realize their FPS project. We strongly believe that CryENGINE 3 will revolutionize the free-to-play market with AAA content and are looking forward to seeing more of Lethal Enterprise.”

While he is a die-hard PC gamer, his gaming roots can be found on consoles. John loved – and still does – the 16-bit consoles, and considers SNES to be one of the best consoles. Still, the PC platform won him over consoles. That was mainly due to 3DFX and its iconic dedicated 3D accelerator graphics card, Voodoo 2.
