2K Games and Hangar 13 have announced a delay for Mafia Definitive Edition. Although the teams were planning to release this upcoming remake on August 28th, they have decided to delay it until September 25th.
The reason behind this delay is the COVID-19 outbreak. According to the teams, finalizing everything has become increasingly challenging due to the ongoing global COVID-19 pandemic. Thus, and in order to avoid releasing a rushed product, the teams will delay the game for one month.
However, 2K Games and Hangar 13 will give us an extended look at Mafia: Definitive Edition’s gameplay in just two weeks. On July 22nd, the teams will air an extended gameplay video, giving us a glimpse at the game’s mechanics.
Mafia Definitive Edition has been built from the ground up, and will be using the Mafia 3 Engine. The game will expand its story to give insights into characters we only got to glimpse in the original game. Furthermore, the game will feature a larger Lost Heaven to explore, motorcycles as a new vehicle type, collectibles to seek out and more.
Lastly, here is an early graphics comparison video between the original and the remake versions.
