Now here is a pleasant surprise. Sony has just announced that Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered, The Last of Us Part II Remastered & God of War Ragnarok will no longer require a PSN account.
I don’t know what happened but it appears that Sony is finally listening to the PC crowd. For almost a year, PC gamers have been very vocal about the PSN requirement.
At first, Sony tried to force PSN to all of its titles. From the looks of it, though, this has backfired. And now, Sony will make PSN account optional in the aforementioned games.
My guess is that future Sony games will not have a mandatory PSN requirement. This is great news for all PC gamers. After all, due to this restriction, all of Sony’s PC titles were not available in multiple countries.
Whether this move will boost the sales of Sony’s PC release remains to be seen.
Sony has also confirmed that Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 will be released tomorrow. I’m mentioning this because the game is still not available for pre-orders. Not only that but we still haven’t gotten our hands on its PC requirements.
So there you have it. This is a big win for PC gamers. It’s also one of the rare cases in which a publisher has acknowledged its mistake and backpedaled. Now imagine if instead of a PSN account, Sony implements Denuvo in all of its PC games. Man, that will be hilarious.
Stay tuned for more!
