MechWarrior 5: Mercenaries releases in a few days and Piranha Games has announced that its title won’t support Ray Tracing or DLSS at launch. The team is currently working with NVIDIA in order to optimize these effects, and will add them to the game via a post-launch update.
As Russ Bullock, President of developer Piranha Games, told WCCFTech:
“As to RTX, we just found out yesterday that we’re not going to have RTX at launch. There is a large committed effort to bring RTX to MechWarrior as soon as possible post-release. I am afraid that is all the details I have on the matter as of this time. Since our game release is so close to the Christmas break I would expect there to be an update very early in the new year.”
Now let’s hope that Piranha Games will implement these RTX effects soon. Unless of course this is another “Wolfenstein: Youngblood” situation, in which we’ll have to wait for more than six months for these effects.
In other news, Piranha Games has also released the launch trailer for its MechWarrior 5 that you can watch below.
Enjoy!
