The team behind the Metal Gear Online 2 PC project has announced that it will bring back the Survival Mode in 2023. In order to celebrate this announcement, the team has also shared a new trailer that you can find below.
But what is Metal Gear Online 2 PC? Basically, it’s a project that attempts to restore the online functionalities of Metal Gear Online 2 via the Playstation 3 emulator, RPCS3.
In order to make the game’s Survival Mode to work, the team had to devise a way to implement dedicated server hosting for as cheap as possible. And they succeeded.
“To achieve this, TriggerHappy reverse-engineered the game’s peer-to-peer network protocol which allowed us to host dozens of matches on a single server.”
Alongside the Survival Mode, the team aims to add various fixes and updates to the custom maps. Furthermore, players can expect a brand new map (that will become available later this year).
All in all, we are really impressed by what the MGO2 PC Team has managed to achieve. So, if you are a Metal Gear fan, we strongly suggest downloading it and giving it a go.
Have fun!
