Michel Ancel, the creator of Beyond Good & Evil, has posted a new image on Instagram, showcasing the character models from the 2008 build of Beyond Good & Evil 2. According to Michel, the development team faced a lot of technical issues with Beyond Good & Evil 2, which is why the game was so delayed.
Michel claimed that Beyond Good & Evil 2 was playable with many prototypes, and that all previously released videos where real-time. However, the development had too much technical issues.
“We wanted planet exploration , space travel , cities … All this was also supposed to be in BGE 1 … Instead of not doing the game of our dreams , we decided to return to 2d , have fun with Rayman and go back at work for Beyond good and Evil 2.”
Michel stated that even though the game is still in pre-production – and there is still a lot of work to be done – the tech powering it is ready.
Michel did not reveal the platforms for which the game will come out, however we are almost certain that it will hit all major current-gen platforms.
Enjoy!
