Man, that’s a lot of pixelated bricks, right? The PC version of Minecraft has just hit 6 million sold copies, with almost 30 million registered users. According to the game’s stats, in the last 24 hours, 84,541 people registered, and 9,164 people bought the game. That’s an impressive number and we’re pretty sure that Notch – as well as Mojang – is excited about their games’ sale numbers.
It’s really remarkable, since the game had four million sold copies back in November. It seems that Minecraft will keep selling like hot-cakes for a long, long time.
It will also be interesting to see whether Notch’s upcoming game will be as successful as Minecraft.
Still, kudos to Notch and the entire Mojang team for accomplishing something like and for keeping this game alive, as its support has been top-notch these past years!

While he is a die-hard PC gamer, his gaming roots can be found on consoles. John loved – and still does – the 16-bit consoles, and considers SNES to be one of the best consoles. Still, the PC platform won him over consoles. That was mainly due to 3DFX and its iconic dedicated 3D accelerator graphics card, Voodoo 2.
