WayForward has announced that The Mummy Demastered PC is coming out on October 24th. The Mummy: Demastered is a 16-bit 2D nonlinear action platformer in which players take the role of an elite agent. Players will have to use a variety of weapons, upgrades, and mysterious artifacts to defend mankind against the supernatural hordes of Princess Ahmanet.
Players will explore dark forests, maze-like military compounds and the sandstorm-filled streets of London in this retro-inspired adventure.
The game promises to feature stunning retro-inspired graphics, atmospheric chiptune soundtrack, and 50 hidden relics to collect. As its description reads, it will be a mix of shoot em up action and exploration adventure. Furthermore, it will come with an arsenal of weapons.
The Mummy Demastered appears to be a great game. Obviously this applies to fans of platformers. And if you are not one of them, then this may make you change your mind. Despite the fact that it was originally planned as a movie tie-in, WayForward decided to delay it in order to further polish it. And to be honest, we believe that WayForward made the right call.

While he is a die-hard PC gamer, his gaming roots can be found on consoles. John loved – and still does – the 16-bit consoles, and considers SNES to be one of the best consoles. Still, the PC platform won him over consoles. That was mainly due to 3DFX and its iconic dedicated 3D accelerator graphics card, Voodoo 2.
