Modder ‘Streamer2k’ has released a brand new texture pack for the Shenmue 1 & 2 collection. This texture pack features 2K and 4K high quality textures that overhaul the games’ nature. This basically means that you can find more detailed textures for trees, grass, bushes, plants, flowers and more.
As the modder claimed, Nature Overhaul replaces all flora and fauna textures with HD textures and most of these new textures have a resolution of 1024×1024, 2048×2048 or 4096×4096 pixels. Stramer2k tried to remain true to the original visuals and artistic Yu Suzuki vision and as such, this HD texture pack looks artistically similar to the vanilla version.
Going into more details, here are what this HD Texture Pack includes: Tree’s foliage, leaves, barks and branches, Tree backgrounds, Bushes, Grasses, Flowers, Plants, Plant pots, Christmas and New Eve ornaments, Shenhua’s intro environment textures (trees, plants, bushes and mountains), Opening intro nature textures, Snow textures, Moon texture in Shenhua scene, Fauna (Cats, dogs, birds, fish).
In order to use this pack, you’ll also need the SpecialK mod. The modder suggests downloading SpecialK 0.10.0.24 as the SpecialK 0.9.x versions have critical bugs such as random black textures, random misplaced and missing textures as well as stability issues.
Those interested can download the Shenmue 1&2 Nature Overhaul Texture Pack from here, and below you can find some screenshots showcasing the new textures!
