Stainless Games has revealed some brand new details about their upcoming Carmageddon game. According to the company, Carmageddon: Reincarnation will support LAN which will be available while you are offline too. The amazing Pratcam of the first Carmageddon will return and Stainless has already booked Tony (the man who was shown in the Pratcam of Carmageddon) for his comeback.
In case you’re unaware of, Pratcam was a feature on the HUD in Carmageddon and the Splat Pack. The top-left of the screen showed a “reaction cam” of the driver in his/her cockpit during the race.
Moreover, cops will be back in Carmageddon: Reincarnation, with standard squad car that’s easily wrecked, APC style that’s harder, and the return of the Oppressor.
Players will be able to see the drivers in other cars and those drivers will, sometimes, be ejected through the windscreen of their car as the result of a massive impact.
Last but not least, Stainless will be using Steamplay for online MP on PC and if cross-play can be implemented effectively, they will try to incorporate it.
Carmageddon: Reincarnation is planned for a February 2013 release on the PC and Mac first and on Linux, PS3 and Xbox 360 at a later date. Those interested can back this project up by visiting its Kickstarter page.
