Heatwave Interactive announced today a new character class, improved gameplay, bonus options, and at the same time a new $29.99 price point for both box and digital versions of their MMO game, Gods & Heroes: Rome Rising.
Anthony Castoro, Heatwave CEO said:
“The benefit of being a small, independent developer and publisher is our ability to act quickly and make changes that reflect community preferences and market conditions. The community has spoken and our analytics confirm that players really enjoy Gods & Heroes once they’ve experienced it. Based on this, we made the decision to lower the barrier to entry so a wider population of players can get in the game.”
Heatwave will roll out the new Scout character class next week. The Scout is a ranged combat specialist that uses a sling or bow to battle advancing foes with well-placed shots and by using the power of the Gods to increase his damage and range.
Last but not least, Heatwave is also rewarding its “Founders of Rome” community with an exclusive never-seen-before minion. Batillus, the long dead archer famed for his prowess with the bow, will be granted to players who have purchased Gods & Heroes and subscribed by July 31, 2011.

Still, the PC platform won him over consoles. That was mainly due to 3DFX and its iconic dedicated 3D accelerator graphics card, Voodoo 2.
