Red Barrels has released a brand new update for Outlast 2 that adds a new Story Mode, allowing players to experience the game with minimal challenges, fewer enemy encounters and more breathing room to fully immerse themselves in the universe.
As the development team noted, it decreased the number of enemies and have lowered their speed, damage and perception in this New Story mode, however it’s still possible to die.
Red Barrels has also restored some content it had to remove from the original game in order to get an M rating. The team restored it in order to avoid an Adult Only rating, something that would obviously hurt its sales. At the same time, some may believe that it’s not as ‘mature’ as its original version. The team claimed these changes are not drastic in our opinion and do not impact gameplay.
Last but not least, this update features some tweaks to the pacing of the game to make more room for exploration, instead of chases.
This latest update for Outlast 2 will be auto-downloaded from Steam the next time you launch its client!
