Two days ago, we informed you about the highly anticipated update for Next Car Game: Wreckfest. This update introduced a new DX11 rendering engine, improved the physics engine, and brought support for 64-bit OS systems. However, it appears that this new engine is not up to the standards set by the previous one.
MaLDo – best known for his incredible mod for Crysis 2 – has released the following comparison screenshots between the game’s earlier and latest versions.
Not only do the graphics look worse – as you will see – but a lot of users reported performance issues that are caused by this new DX11 engine.
Whether these underwhelming visuals are caused by various bugs in the rendering engine or not remains to be seen.
Here is hoping that Bugbear will further optimize and improve this new engine so that the game’s visuals can at least match those offered by the previous one.
The previous build is on the left, whereas the new build is on the right.
