Hello Games has released a new major beta patch for No Man’s Sky. According to the release notes, this update adds support for correctly scaling the HUD and other visual elements for 4K resolutions and 21:9 aspect ratios.
Moreover, it adds the ability to customise your HUD scale, and support for custom resolution scaling when playing in borderless mode. It also optimizes a number of base parts that used up a large proportion of the local complexity limit.
Not only that, but this beta patch comes with a number of optimization tweaks. For instance, it introduces a number of significant CPU optimisations, and improves the management of graphics memory pools. It also optimizes the memory usage of interaction dialogue and applies various optimisations to water rendering.
Naturally, this latest patch also comes with numerous bug fixes. It also resolves a number of crashes that gamers have reported. Oh, and it also replaces the previous HBAO implementation with a newer and higher-quality temporal AO solution.
As always, Steam will download this latest beta patch once you opt-in to the experimental branch, and you can find its complete changelog below.

- Fixed an issue that could cause players to get stuck in a loop when trying to return the Mind Arc to Artemis.
- Added a tip message when pinning a product that you do not know the recipe for.
- Fixed an issue where collision on scientific frigates could eject players into space.
- Fixed a number of interaction progress issues that were preventing a large number of NPC and other planetary encounters from being selected.
