NVIDIA has released a new hotfix driver for its graphics cards that addresses a CPU issue that could occur after exiting a game. This driver is a must for every NVIDIA user, unless of course you want to stick with an older driver.
Going into more details, the NVIDIA GeForce 531.26 Hotfix Driver resolves the higher CPU usage from NVIDIA Container after exiting a game. Do note that this CPU performance issue is not related to the DX12 driver overhead. So yeah, don’t expect your games to run faster.
This new driver also resolves some random bugcheck on certain laptops with GeForce GTX 10/MX250/350 series GPUs.
You can download this new driver from here. As always, this hotfix has all the tweaks and improvements of the previous WHQL driver.
Lastly, here is the complete changelog for this new driver.

While he is a die-hard PC gamer, his gaming roots can be found on consoles. John loved – and still does – the 16-bit consoles, and considers SNES to be one of the best consoles. Still, the PC platform won him over consoles. That was mainly due to 3DFX and its iconic dedicated 3D accelerator graphics card, Voodoo 2.
