NVIDIA has released a new driver for its graphics cards. According to the green team, the NVIDIA Geforce 551.86 WHQL driver provides the best gaming experience in Horizon Forbidden West Complete Edition. So, if you’re planning on playing it, you might want to get this driver.
Moreover, this driver adds support for Portal with RTX which introduced DLSS Ray Reconstruction and NVIDIA RTX IO. However, it appears that this driver does not pack any optimizations for Dragon’s Dogma 2.
Dragon’s Dogma 2 is coming out tomorrow. According to reports, this game requires a high-end CPU, even on PC. NVIDIA said they’ll have DLSS 3 Frame Generation ready for the game’s launch, but the review code didn’t include it. So, it sounds like this game is going to be a bit of a challenge right from the start. Let’s at least hope that we’ll get DLSS 3 soon. Then again, we may have to rely on modders as they’ll most likely beat Capcom and NVIDIA to it.
Oh, and just a heads-up. Sony and Capcom didn’t send us review copies for Horizon: Forbidden West and Dragon’s Dogma 2. So, we won’t have a PC Performance Analysis article ready right on day one. But don’t worry, we’ve already pre-ordered both of them. Thus, we’ll share our first impressions of how they perform on our high-end PC system. So, stay tuned for more.
This new driver does not pack any major bug fixes for other games. Okay okay. It does fix some stutters in Hitman 3 on some Advanced Optimus notebooks. However, this isn’t something that will interest most of you who game on desktop PCs.
You can go ahead and download this new driver from this link. Below you can also find its complete changelog.
