NVIDIA has released a new driver for its graphics cards. According to the release notes, the NVIDIA Geforce 556.12 WHQL driver is optimized for The First Descendant which will come out on July 2nd. Moreover, it brings a number of tweaks, fixes and changes. So, let’s take a closer look at them.
The NVIDIA Geforce 556.12 WHQL driver includes improvements to titles leveraging NVIDIA DLSS technology, including the latest update for PAYDAY 3 which supports DLSS 3.
Furthermore, this driver fixes an out-of-memory error issue that could occur in The Last of Us Part 1. It also resolves some crashes in Halo Infinite that were present in the previous driver. Not only that but it addresses an issue in Valorant, which could cause its in-game statistics to incorrectly show high latency.
As I’ve said numerous times, if your system is stable and if you don’t plan to play the aforementioned games, you should skip this driver. After all, you won’t see any performance gains by installing them. Especially if you use an old GPU.
Like always, you can download this new driver from NVIDIA’s official website. Below you can also find its complete changelog.
