NVIDIA has released a new driver for its graphics cards. According to the release notes, the NVIDIA GeForce 561.09 WHQL Driver gives you the best gaming experience in the latest new PC games. These include Final Fantasy 16, God of War Ragnarok, Frostpunk 2, and EA Sports FC 25.
According to the changelog, this driver does not have any new game bug fixes. However, it does come with some fixes for some other programs. So, let’s take a look at them.
The new driver fixes a few problems with GeForce Experience. To be more precise, it solves a bug where the Performance Monitoring overlay would sometimes stop showing the GPU info correctly. It also fixes an issue where the Game Filters would sometimes disappear when you tried to use the NVIDIA Overlay during a game. Plus, it improves performance with Chaos V-Ray. So, if you’ve had any of these issues, installing the new driver should help.
If you are not interested in the above games, you can skip this driver. As they say, if it ain’t broken, don’t try to fix it. If, on the other hand, you want to play them, you can go ahead and install it. I don’t believe the will majorly improve performance unless there is a major flaw with the previous driver.
Speaking of these games, Sony has not provided us with a review code for GoW: Ragnarok. As such, we won’t have a day-1 PC Performance Analysis. Square Enix may provide us with a PC review code, so we may share our initial PC performance impressions at launch. Nothing is certain though.
