NVIDIA has released a new driver for its graphics cards. According to the release notes, the NVIDIA Geforce 572.83 WHQL driver offers the best gaming experience in Half-Life 2 RTX Demo and Warhammer 40K: Darktide.
Moreover, this driver brings support for titles leveraging DLSS tech, including Assassin’s Creed Shadows, The Last of Us Part II Remastered, and the enhanced update for Control. In addition, this driver supports inZOI which features the first integration of NVIDIA ACE technology.
Since AC: Shadows is mentioned here, I’ve tried this new driver with it. Sadly, no. This driver does not bring any performance improvements. So, don’t expect the game to run better with it.
For what it’s worth, I’ve already informed NVIDIA and Ubisoft of our findings. So, hopefully, they will work together in order to further polish it. You can find our PC Performance Analysis for AC: Shadows here. Tomorrow, we’ll have another article that will focus on Ray Tracing and DLSS 4.
The NVIDIA Geforce 572.83 WHQL driver fixes some issues with the RTX 50 series GPUs. For instance, these GPUs will now run at full speeds on system reboot when overclocked. Plus, it packs the fixes for the black screen issues that were included in the Hotfix 572.75 driver.
Moreover, this driver resolves an issue that could cause some NVIDIA Control Panel / NVIDIA App settings changes to immediately get reset or give an error. It also fixes the IRQL NOT LESS OR EQUAL 0xa error code that some were getting during gameplay with HDR.
