Alongside Remedy’s Control, Obsidian Entertainment and Epic Games have announced that the highly anticipated RPG, The Outer Worlds, will be exclusive to the Epic Games Store for one year. Contrary to Control, though, The Outer Worlds will also be available for purchase on Microsoft Store at launch.
This basically means that Steam will not have two highly anticipated PC games of 2019, and let’s not forget that Heavy Rain, Beyond: Two Souls and Detroit: Become Human will be also coming exclusively on Epic’s store.
Obsidian claimed that this exclusivity deal will last for twelve months and the game will release on other digital platforms after this deal expires. In other words, PC gamers will be able to enjoy these games on Steam in 2020 and not in 2019.
Epic Games has been doing its best to secure as many PC exclusives as it can possibly can. And to be honest, some of them are games that a lot of players have been looking forward to. As such, it will be interesting to see whether PC gamers will boycott these Epic Store releases or not.
