Epic Games has announced that Oddworld: Soulstorm and Magic: The Gathering Arena will release exclusively on the Epic Games Store. Magic: The Gathering Arena will release this Fall, whereas the new Oddworld game targets a 2020 release.
Oddworld Inhabitants has also issued a statement about the Epic Games Store exclusivity deal. According to the statement, the team is self-funding the game and needed additional financial assistance. As such, the Epic Games Store deal made a lot of sense to them as it can now focus on creating the game.

This is a really honest statement. To Oddworld Inhabitants’ credit, Lorne did not try to make the Epic Games Store sound cool or great. Moreover, the team avoided all the mistakes that Glumberland made earlier this month.
So yeah, it kind of sucks that Oddworld: Soulstorm will release exclusively on the Epic Games Store, however the team needed the extra cash to create the game. And since this is an indie team we’re talking about, we can fully understand and appreciate its decision.
Epic Games has also released a new trailer that showcases all of its games that will be coming out shortly!
