The Game Developers Conference has shared its latest 2019 survey, revealing some new interesting details about the state of our industry. According to the survey, the PC remains the leading platform as the majority of developers are making/releasing their games for it.
The Game Developers Conference has surveyed nearly 4,000 game developers and 56% of them said that their previous game was released on the PC. Furthermore, 66% of them stated that their next game will hit the PC platform and 62% anticipates that its next game will be released on it.
Furthermore, 60% of those surveyed stated that they are most interested on the PC platform, leaving behind each and every other console.
It’s also worth noting that 2% claimed that it is working exclusively on next-gen games, 46% claimed that it is working exclusively on current-gen games, and 16% claimed that it is working on games for both next-gen and current-gen platforms.
John is the founder and Editor in Chief at DSOGaming. He is a PC gaming fan and highly supports the modding and indie communities. Before creating DSOGaming, John worked on numerous gaming websites. While he is a die-hard PC gamer, his gaming roots can be found on consoles. John loved – and still does – the 16-bit consoles, and considers SNES to be one of the best consoles. Still, the PC platform won him over consoles. That was mainly due to 3DFX and its iconic dedicated 3D accelerator graphics card, Voodoo 2. John has also written a higher degree thesis on the “The Evolution of PC graphics cards.”
