I think it is safe to say that as PC gamers we did not expect much when Phil Spencer announced earlier this year that Microsoft had big plans for PC gaming. After the Windows 10 event yesterday the general consensus has remained pretty much unchanged. Where was the focus on PC gaming?
Today during a group interview at Xbox’s Head Phil Spencer said,
“People ask about the streaming in the opposite direction–can I stream from my PC to my Xbox?–and I’ll just say it’s something that we’re really looking at,”
As of now though, Microsoft has no plans to offer Streaming from PC to the Xbox One.
Microsoft has as of right now missed the opportunity to bring a new audience to Xbox One. A lot of PC gamers are not interested in the Xbox One, let alone streaming it to their desktop. Even if Microsoft’s intentions are to stream to laptops so that you can take Xbox gaming to other rooms this still does not appeal to PC gamers as we already have Steam In-Home Streaming and Nvidia owners have the shield.
As far as PC gaming is concerned, Microsoft really didn’t have anything to say at their Windows 10 event.
