Good news for those interested in God games as Peter Molyneux’s Project Godus has hit its Kickstarter campaign of $450K. GODUS is said to be an innovative reinvention of Populous, the original god game and delivers exciting global co-operation, competition, creation and destruction to a whole new generation.
To be honest, the prototype video that was released a couple of days ago (and can be viewed below) reminded me more of Peter’s Black & White (without the creature-thing) but I guess that’s another story.
According to 22Cans, the game’s development team, GODUS draws on the cunning battle-psychology of Dungeon Keeper, the living, changing world of Black & White and the instinctive, satisfying gameplay of Populous.
Project GODUS will be hitting PC and Mac, though as we can see it’s still on early stages.
Enjoy!

Still, the PC platform won him over consoles. That was mainly due to 3DFX and its iconic dedicated 3D accelerator graphics card, Voodoo 2.
